The event taking place on Saturday, April 23rd, from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM at Chattahoochee Nature Center, 9135 Willeo Road, Roswell, will offer environmental programs, hands-on education stations, as well as exciting entertainment and events for kids and adults alike.

Kid's Fest participants will spend the day exploring environmental themes such as wildlife appreciation, renewable energy, water quality, recycling, native plants and entomology through engaging hands-on activities. Environmental education stations to date include the National Wildlife Federation’s “Backyard Wildlife Sanctuary,” Georgia Kids Against Pollution's "Tree of Life,” "Paint a Reef Ball" with The Reef Ball Foundation, Southface Energy Institute’s “Solar Pizza Oven,” Georgia Project WET and Adopt a Stream’s new “Waste Water Treatment Plant,” "Bug Hunting," sponsored by the Georgia Museum of Natural History and Entomology Department at UGA, “Plant a Vegetable Seed” with Friends of Hyde Farm, “Create a Beaver Mask” with the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area and many more. Visit the teepee of Native American, Diamond Brown, as he tells stories about Indian ways. Try out a canoe or kayak at the REI demonstration on the pond. Healthy fruit snacks will be provided by Whole Foods Markets.

The Chattahoochee Nature Center will showcase its native, non-releasable wildlife including animals from turtles to hawks! You can also hike the grounds of the Center where you will discover wildlife and wildflowers. An interactive concert with Dekalb County Elementary Music Specialist Linda Marie Johnson titled, “In Concert with Nature” will take place from 11:00 AM – Noon. Greenearth TV will also give kids the chance to write, host and shoot their very own environmental TV show throughout the day.
