 The official
December event for the Georgia Chapter of Compassionate Kids is
making gift baskets for Senior Citizens. These baskets will be
distributed by “Milestones In Senior Independence” (www.caring4seniors.org),
a non-profit organization located in Decatur, Georgia that
caters to seniors who live by themselves but still need a
helping hand doing daily chores. Our goal is to make and provide
80 gift baskets.
A room has been rented at Reynolds Nature Preserve located in
Morrow where we can meet and put together the baskets. We ask
that you please bring items to fill the baskets such as toiletry items
and small household items. Contents for the men’s baskets have
already been provided, so when asking for donations or when
purchasing items, please keep in mind that the items needed are
for the ladies.
The representative of Milestones In Senior Independence has
suggested the following items for us to collect for the baskets:

Shampoo

Bath soap
-
Bath sponges
-
Toothbrush
-
Toothpaste
-
Deodorant
-
Band-aids
-
Hand lotion & creams
-
Light bulbs
-
Batteries
-
Flashlights
-
Cleaning sponges
 FOOD AND COST
A very generous Compassionate Kids member has donated the cost
of the room rental, so there will be no additional cost for the
party. Please bring a favorite holiday treat to share and copy
of the recipe to display. Many children in the group are
vegetarian or have other food restrictions and need to know the
exact ingredients used in the recipe. Drinks will be provided.
If anyone would like to help with set-up then please be at
Reynolds at 2:00 PM. [This event is past--no additional RSVPs
accepted.]

Location of room: After you park, walk up to the Nature center
and go to the left side of the building. You will see two doors;
one of them will be unlocked.
