Atlanta History CenterCIVIL RIGHTS FIELD TRIP - As the official event for the month of February, the Compassionate Kids chapter for the state of Georgia is sponsoring a trip to the Atlanta History Museum to experience a special school day program about the Civil Rights Movement. The museum is offering the Civil Rights Movement presentation as a one-day only event included as part of its celebration of Black History Month. This event is open to the public.

During this event, we will experience the following civil rights-related activities:

  • A tour of the exhibits
  • A scavenger hunt
  • A video presentation
  • A performance

OPTIONAL PICNIC – Picnic tables are available outside for those who may be interested in bringing a picnic for after the event.

PARKING & MEETING – Parking is free. We will meet in the Allen Atrium at the main entrance to the museum. (Some construction is taking place, but the main entrance will be open.)

AGES – The history center has designed this program geared towards Kindergarten through Grade 12. However, all ages are welcome.

COST & RSVP – Admission is $6 per person. One chaperone is admitted free per 5 students. Please fill out the online RSVP Form.

The event takes place inside, so no rain date will be planned.
