 The
official Compassionate KidsSM
event for the month of January 2005 is to visit a horse rescue
facility in Cumming, Georgia.
The mission of The Horse Rescue, Relief & Retirement Fund, Inc.
(HRRRFI) is to improve the quality of life for all horses and
thereby improve the lives of people through their human band
with horses. The organization is made up of volunteers with a
mission to stop horses from being sent to slaughter or abuse.
Horses at this facility are rescued, retired, and/or
rehabilitated from racetracks, pharmaceutical companies, abusive
situations, injuries, illness, etc. Some of the horses are
available for adoption; some need sponsorships. There are also
resident therapy horses.
During this field trip, we will:

Hear the stories of many rescued animals
-
Learn what therapeutic riding is and how it may help persons
with disabilities
-
Learn about the value of caring for ALL lives
COST & RSVP
The cost for the field trip is a $5.00 donation per person.
Please arrive with exact change in cash in an envelope with your
family name on it. Please RSVP via email to info@compassionatekids.com
no later than January 13, 2005. Be sure to dress appropriately
with comfortable shoes!
