This event is past.
The
official Compassionate KidsSM
event for the month of June 2005 is a Compassionate Book Sharing
Event at the Barnes & Noble Southlake in Morrow, Georgia (a
South Atlanta suburb).
BRING A BOOK
All
participants are encouraged to bring a favorite
compassion-oriented book to share with the group (making
sure it is clearly marked with your name before entering the
store). Each child and adult will have the opportunity to speak
to the group about one book. Please be prepared to have you
and/or each child say the title and author of the book, along
with a brief description of what was great about it. Shy people
will not be required to speak.
BOOK SUGGESTION
Having trouble thinking of compassion-oriented books? Check out
our newly expanded web page of
recommended books and other media.
AGE RANGES
The
event will be broken down into age-appropriate sections so that
very young children may go home early and teenagers won't have
to sit through preschool book recommendations:
7:00
to 7:30 PM - Under Age Six
7:30 to 8:00 PM - Ages Six through Twelve
8:00 to 8:30 PM - Teens and Up
The
first group will have a story read at the beginning of the
event.
WEEK LONG BOOK FAIR - June 28 through July 4, 2005
In
booking this event, we learned that Barnes & Noble offers book
fairs to raise funds for non-profit organizations. We have
arranged for a Compassionate Kids book fair beginning on the day
of the event, Tuesday June 28, and ending a week later on
Monday, July 4. A percentage of each Compassionate Kids sale
during that week will go to support our operating costs. Please
PRINT THE BOOK FAIR VOUCHER and present it at the
time you make your purchases. If anyone is feeling particularly
charitable, we would be most grateful if you would please share
this voucher with anyone and everyone you know who may make a
purchase at the Morrow Barnes & Noble during this time frame.

here to get voucher document with three vouchers on a page.
COST
There is no cost for this event (at least for those of you who
can make it out of a bookstore without spending any money)!
RSVP
Please RSVP using our online form at
www.compassionatekids.com/rsvp.html.
If you know what book(s) you will be sharing with the group, it
would be very helpful for you to list them on the RSVP form. This will
enable us to compile a list of recommended books to hand out at
the event. In addition, Barnes & Noble will try to have the
books available if we can give them enough notice, so please
RSVP as soon as possible with your book choice(s).
MEETING LOCATION
We
will meet in the story time area of the kids' section at the
back of the store. Storytime will begin promptly, so please
arrive a few minutes early.
LOCAL RESTAURANTS
For
anyone interested in dining before or after this event, there
are numerous dining establishments on Mount Zion Road.

Remember to print
