The following job postings are volunteer positions that are currently available:


New Board Member

Compassionate Kids, Inc., is seeking an energetic self-starter in the greater Atlanta, Georgia, metropolitan area to join its board of directors. Compassionate Kids (CK) is an all-volunteer, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. The mission of CK is to teach children to have compassion for the earth, people, and animals through educational and volunteer activities. CK also provides resources for families and educators to help teach compassion. Basic responsibilities of a board member include assisting to plan CK activities, fundraising, and publicity. The Compassionate Kids board meets four times per year within the metro Atlanta area. Skills in grant writing and/or fundraising are specifically sought in a new board member. National Director

Compassionate Kids, Inc. is seeking an energetic self-starter in the greater Atlanta, Georgia, metropolitan area to serve as its volunteer National Director. Compassionate Kids (CK) is an all-volunteer, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. The mission of CK is to teach children to have compassion for the earth, people, and animals through educational and volunteer activities. CK also provides resources for families and educators to help teach compassion. Basic responsibilities of the National Director include:

• communicating with interested parties (grant agencies, the media, sponsors, potential new chapters, etc.) via the mail, e-mail, and phone
• representing Compassionate Kids, Inc. to interested parties (grant agencies, the media, sponsors, potential new chapters, etc.) in interviews and public appearances
• increasing the number of local chapters, which is currently 17 (recruiting new chapters, setting up online discussion forums, etc.)
• communicating with local chapters throughout the country and the world, including disseminating action-oriented information and maintaining consistency in CK branding
• developing website content (educational activities and resources, links to information on the web, etc.)
• setting up booths at events related to the CK mission (schedule permitting), and
• attending meetings of the Board of Directors four times per year in the Atlanta metropolitan area.

Skills in website maintenance, including coding and updating content, are desired but not required.

The estimated time commitment for this position is from two to eight hours per week. Local Chapter Leader, Atlanta Metropolitan Area

Compassionate Kids, Inc. is seeking an energetic self-starter in the greater Atlanta, Georgia, metropolitan area to serve as a volunteer Local Chapter Leader. Compassionate Kids (CK) is an all-volunteer, non-profit, 501(c)3 organization. The mission of CK is to teach children to have compassion for the earth, people, and animals through educational and volunteer activities. CK also provides resources for families and educators to help teach compassion. Basic responsibilities of a Local Chapter Leader (Atlanta metro area) include:

• communicating with chapter members via e-mail and message boards
• arranging field trips and community service events for members
• recruiting new members
• maintaining contact with the national organization.

The estimated time commitment for this position is from one to five hours per week.
